郭教授近年来的研究主要集中在环境污染物的暴露和健康效应评价、环境健康危险度评价和环境健康促进。其研究工作得到了国家自然科学基金、教育部、卫生部、科技部、环境保护部、北京市科委、公司、日本日中医学会、日本公害基金以及美国NIH等的资助，在国内外学术期刊发表论文200余篇。以第一完成人获得环境保护科学技术二等奖、北京市科技技术二等和三等奖等。
