Dr. Liu is a research fellow and doctoral supervisor at the School of Public Health, Peking University. Her research interests are mainly in: (1) Epidemiology of infectious diseases; (2) Prevention, control and management on infectious diseases; (3) Maternal and child health; (4) Big data research and application in health. She acted as Principle Investigator of more than 20 national projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation, the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, the National Health Commission of China, etc. She has published more than 100 papers as first author or corresponding author, including Lancet Infectious Disease, Lancet Global Health, Lancet Regional Health - Western Pacific, GUT, Bulletin of The World Health Organization, etc..

She is the member of the Expert panel of COVID-19 in the National Health Commission of China, the member of the National Public Health and Preventive Medicine Terminology Compilation Committee, the member of Patriotic Health Technical Steering Committee of Chinese Preventive Medicine Association, the member of Health Management and Rule of Law Committee in the Chinese Preventive Medical Association, the member of mother-to-child transmission prevention (PMTCT) committee in the Chinese Association for Prevention and Control of STD and AIDS; the member of Big Data Working Committee of Rehabilitation in the Rehabilitation Medical Association of China, the member of Science and Technology Management and Evaluation Committee in the Rehabilitation Medical Association of China, and vice president of the Youth Committee of the Soft Tissue Oncology Branch in the China Association for the Promotion of International Exchange in Healthcare, ect..

She has awarded Peking University Academic Innovation Award (2016), the first prize of the Science and Technology Award of the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association (2019), the first prize of National Maternal and Child Health Science and Technology Award (2019, 2021), the Outstanding Young Talent in Beijing (2020), the Beijing May Fourth Youth Medal (2020), Wang Xuan Young Scholar Award of Peking University (2020), and National Natural Science Outstanding Youth Foundation (2021), Boya Young Scholar of Peking University (2022).
