Department of Biostatistics, School of Public Health, Peking University will hold “the Second Symposium in Biostatistics and Data Science” at Peking University from November 8 to 10, 2019. This will be the second high-level symposium in biostatistics and data science held by Department of Biostatistics, Peking University

Since its establishment in November 2018. Themed with “Design and Evaluation Methods of Medical Devices”, this symposium will help further implement The Plan of “Healthy China 2030” and Guideline of the State Council to Implement Healthy China Initiative.

This symposium includes two phases of short-course training and meeting. In the course, an 8-hour course joint lecture themed with “The Clinical Trial and Evaluation for Medical Devices” will be given by Prof. Xiao-Hua Zhou, Chair of Department of Biostatistics, Peking University and Dr. Gregory Campbell, the former Director of Department of Biostatistics, Center for Medical Devices Evaluation, U.S. FDA. During the meeting, experts and scholars from Center for Medical Device Evaluation of National Medical Products Administration (NMPA), National Institute for Food and Drug Control (NIFDC), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of USA and from America’s distinguished institutions of higher learning are invited to share key points and research outcomes of medical devices evaluation. It is expected to accelerate the application of biostatistics and data science in clinical trial of medical evaluation, thus promoting the implementation of Healthy China.
